You probably saw the story about the couple in Northern California who were out walking their dog on their property when they noticed something and started digging around. They ended up unearthing a number of old cans containing $10 million dollars worth of gold coins!! Here's a link to the story. The couple has worked really hard at keeping everything secret (from where their property is to where the coins are being stored) - they don't want people "prospecting" on their property looking for more. They say that they're planning to donate some of the profits to charity. What would you do if you stumbled upon a treasure like this? I'm sure all of us have daydreamed about Publisher's Clearinghouse knocking on our door with a big check. Probably part of our imaginary distribution list includes giving to church and other charities. But how much of it should we give? 10%? 20%? 50%? More? How much does God want? How much does God need? Since we'll probably never be in this kind of situation, we may feel off the hook... but what about the income that we actually have? Does God expect a certain amount of that? What if I told you no? Join us this Sunday, March 2nd, for part two of our series "Passing the Test" This time we're going to talk about turning the tables and putting God to the test. I hope to see you there. Hele mei hoohiwahiwa (come celebrate) at the Luau Potluck!Don't miss out on our big "beat the winter" Luau Potluck and Party this coming Sunday evening (March 2nd, 5:00 pm).
