Unlike the graphic image we've been using for our "ROOTED" series through the book of Colossians, most trees apparently don't send down deep tap roots. Instead, they send out a root system that spreads wide and shallow in order to soak up the maximum rain water and nutrients near the surface. That means that they might be more susceptible to being blown over by a big storm (in this case, tearing up the sod in the process). Our own roots need to grow deep and solidly into Jesus so that we can not only receive the spiritual nourishment only He can provide, but also so that we will not be susceptible to the winds of deception. Paul writes: Don't let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and This Sunday, June 2nd, we'll continue our look at the book of Colossians - specifically at Colossians 2:6-15. Everyone is welcome to attend this worship service focused on seeking God's blessing on these new graduates. On Sunday, June 16th, we will have a time to honor the grads during our morning worship service. Following worship that day, we will be having an all-church BBQ.
