Check out this reporter doing her best to make a compelling story for the Eyewitness News. I think we can all relate to being in a situation in which we try to "spin" the story in order make ourselves look better or get out of a jam. And you've probably been caught in your "embellishment" - although hopefully not broadcast on the news or memorialized on YouTube! No matter how much we try to be the perfect person, the perfect employee, the perfect athlete, or the perfect friend, we always fail. They may be tiny missteps or gigantic gaffes, but we all come up short. That's where the Easter story enters our messed-up lives and brings the Good News - we don't have to be perfect. In fact, it was never an option for us (no matter what you've been told or told yourself). I hope you'll be able to take part in our Holy Week prayer experience, "Journey to the Cross", that is being offered at CCC this week. Each evening between 7-9:00 pm, Monday through Friday, the sanctuary is open for your reflective journey through the last week of Jesus' life leading up to his crucifixion. The 12 stations guide your thoughts and prayers and even offer hands-on actions to help you to enter in more fully. Please plan on setting aside at least 30 minutes so that you don't feel rushed. Easter Sunday Celebration! Our Sunrise Service will be held at 7:00 am in the Twisp Commons park right next to the Community Center. This short service will feature singing, scripture reading, and a challenging meditation as we join with the women who discovered Jesus' empty tomb and were the first messengers of the Good News that Jesus is alive. Pastor Jeff and Tim Boonstra will be leading this community service. (From 7:30-9:30 the United Methodist church invites you to breakfast at their church. Donations will help fun an upcoming youth ministry trip.)
Our Easter Worship Celebration will take place at our usual time of 10:00 am at CCC and will feature some special music, a message of hope, and a memorable visual depicting Jesus' new life he offers to all. We hope to see you there! Comments are closed.
