Almost 4 years ago, Tami and I moved to the Methow Valley to begin our ministry with you at Community Covenant Church. As I began settling into my office at church, I noticed this note taped to the inside of the door. After a short while I stopped even noticing it. Fast forward to this past Fall. Winter weather was fast approaching and the night time temperatures were creeping down into the 30s. I came walking across the parking lot one morning (on my long commute from our home next to the church) only to discover the door to my office wide open. Sure enough, the writer of the note (Pastor Gregg?) was correct about his warning to be sure the door is shut and that the mechanism had caught. I spent a rather chilly day while waiting for the heat to warm up my office once again! I don't know about you, but I kind of take doors for granted. As long as I can enter or exit through them, I rarely even give them a thought. They're just... there. But doors are important to our daily lives (as I discovered last Fall). Jesus even went so far as to say, "I am the door". What exactly was he talking about? Join us this Sunday, February 26th, as we continue in our sermon series considering the "I AM" statements of Jesus as recorded in the gospel of John. They help us to understand who Jesus is - and who God is. They also help us to understand how we should related to Jesus in our daily lives. I hope to see you there -- and do yourself a favor and make sure your door is firmly closed! GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMES GAMESWinter is hanging on -- although some of the snow is melting, we're due to get some more in the coming days. It's enough to make you consider joining the Snowbirds down South.
WE'RE HERE TO HELP! This Saturday, February 25th, is our Family Game Night at the church! Come on down at 6:00 and bring your favorite snack to share as we have some fun together. Lori Hayes is planning some games and activities for the little kids and Jeff and Tami are planning some games for the big kids. See you there! Comments are closed.
