A week from now we'll be into the year 2015 - that's hard to believe for many of us! In fact, on October 21st Marty McFly will arrive from the year 1985 (see Back to the Future Part 2). I guess that means we should expect to see kids riding hoverboards before too long! A new year always gives us a psychological opportunity to "start over". However, it's our daily choices that provide the real opportunity - to send our future in a positive direction or one that will take us toward ruin. This Sunday we'll be returning to our journey through Scripture with The Story. This week we'll be looking at chapter 13 and the life of King Solomon (found in 1 Kings 3-11 among other places). This will be the first in our series that looks at the various Kings who, too often, made decisions that lead to their own - and the nation's - destruction. Let's make a commitment to learn from these negative examples. Solomon was the wisest man to ever live and yet wisdom only benefits us if we make proper choices based on that wisdom. His downfall was giving his heart - and primary influence in his life - to ungodly spouses (not a good decision - and that's not even addressing the decision to have multiple spouses!). So here's to a great 2015 - individually and together as Community Covenant Church! Let's seek God's wisdom in every decision and then follow through in a way that brings honor to Him! Un-Decorate the ChurchThis Sunday, December 28th, we're going to take down the Christmas decorations following worship. If you can stick around for a bit and help it would be greatly appreciated! Many hands make quick work - and we can all get home in time to watch the Seahawks beat the Rams! Everyone is invited to join us at the church for an evening of laughter and fun starting at 8:00 pm. Feel to come when you can and stay as long as you'd like. Bring some snacks to share as we move from 2014 into 2015 with a big smile on our faces! (The teens will be ice skating and then joining us at 8. Contact Tim for more info.) Comments are closed.
